Green Sector Update by Cynthia Pierce Bouldin Creek is Bursting with Life
Our neighborhood is alive with energy—new families, playful dogs, curious visitors, majestic peacocks, and even the occasional horse. The Splash Pad at Ricky Guerrero Park is officially open, and the children’s laughter says it all—summer is here!
When I moved to Bouldin Creek in 1997, it was quiet and a bit hard to meet people. I met one neighbor in my first two years. Today, that’s all changed. Just last month during the ART04 Studio Tour, over 160 people passed through our gates. It was a joy to meet so many of you in person. The Green Sector has grown more connected, welcoming, and full of heart.
As a naturally shy person, my first friendships were with the toddlers at Ricky G Park—tiny faces offering big smiles and waves. From there, I met their parents, grandparents, and au pairs. Then came the dogs, always ready to say hello, pulling their humans into conversations at the edge of the street.
Biking through the neighborhood each day, I see a changing and vibrant landscape—people walking, pushing strollers, talking on cell phones, listening to music, or just enjoying the day. Dogs sniff the air while their owners gather for friendly chats.
Old homes are being replaced, gardens are blooming, and new neighbors are arriving every week. There’s a beautiful rhythm to it all.
So here’s my invitation: Say "hello". Make a new friend. Bouldin Creek is more than just a place to live—it’s a true gem, and it shines brighter when we connect.
