Planning for Ricky G improvements have been in the works for over two years. Yesterday, the City sent out the notification below; our Parks Committee will get more details from the project manager and share them.

Ricky Guerrero Neighborhood Park will be closing for renovations beginning Tuesday, January 22, 2019. The park areas containing the restroom facility, play equipment, picnic tables and grills will be closed during the renovation period. When completed, Ricky Guerrero Neighborhood Park will have new ADA compliant sidewalks, picnic tables and grills, benches, rain gardens, infrastructure for drainage control, and an improved restroom facility compliant with current ADA standards. Improvements to the playgrounds will also include a pre-school play structure which will provide a more accessible, enjoyable and inclusive play area for the community. The renovations at Ricky Guerrero Neighborhood Park are anticipated to be completed by early summer 2019.
